Tag....

What is his name? Spencer. I call him Spence or Spen. Darius will say “Hi Spenster” with a “t” and Cambri says Spenca with out the “r”. And of course, his friends know him as “Bear”.

How long have you been married? Almost two years.

How long did you date? Hmmm…our first date was on June 18th of 2000, and we were super good friends for about 5 years until we actually “hooked up” in September of 2005. Why so long you may ask… well, these things just take time.

Who eats more? Take a guess.

Who said I love you first.? I did, after he kissed me first.

Who sings better? Spence sings about 100 times better than I do.

Whose temper is worse? We have very similar temperaments.

Who does the laundry? I do the laundry, and Spence helps.

Who does the dishes? I would say it is about half and half.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Spence.

Who does the cooking? We both do.

Who is more stubborn? Again, we are about the same.

Who asked who out? Well actually, I asked Spence out first. Katie had asked Mark (Spencer’s best friend) out and needed a double, and so naturally I asked Spence. We both had a lot fun!

Who Proposed? Spence did of course.

Who is most likely to admit they’re wrong? Me…would you agree Spence?

Whose parents do you see the most? They live super close to one another and so we are able to see them about the same.

Who pays the bills? I pay most bills.

Who wears the pants in the family? I guess we just share the pants.

Who drives when you're are together? Spence does…which I really like.

Why do you love your husband? Lots of reasons. One reason is that Spence is a great listener. Seriously, I can talk his ear off and he never seems to get bored.

Who do you want to tag? Christina and Becky and whoever else wants to do this.

Mmmm...Yummy!

Yesterday we had dinner with my parents. Since all my brother's and sister's had plans with either in laws, or something else going on, it was just me, Spence and my mom and dad. Spence decided that for dessert we should have Creme Brulee. We got this Creme Brulee set for our wedding and have been meaning to use it, but didn't bust it out until yesterday. Who knew that Spence was such a good cook? It turned out to be a delicious success. My favorite part was the frozen blueberries that went on top, and I think Spence likes that delicious top layer of sugar that you melt using the "mini blow torch".

My dad however enjoyed trying to figure out how different kinds of sugar (granulated, powdered, or marshmallow) melted using the "mini blow torch". It seems that engineering was the right career choice for him.

My mom just enjoys anything that has to do with being with her family. Thanks for the great dinner mom and dad.

Valentines...

Happy Valentines Day! On Valentines Day we had a heart shaped, homemade, gourmet pizza. Yes, I went to a lot of work and trouble to make this meal very special for the two of us. ( : Actually, if ever a birthday or significant holiday lands on a week day we usually celebrate on the weekend...which is what we did this time. We decided that since we had never been to The Roof together that we would go there for Valentine's Day. I forgot how delicious their food was. We had a lot of fun trying all the food in the buffet...multiple times...,and oh how good was the dessert. It was just great being able to sit together and talk. I think that going out for food is one of our favorite past times because we just get to be together and eat good food.

It's a girl!

Hi Guys! We have some great news! We’re having a little baby girl. We were able to see her on Monday, and it made it feel that much more real. We really are going to have a baby! It was amazing to see her little arms, hands, legs and feet. The doctor said that everything looked great. She is right where she is supposed to be as far as weight and size go. I kept thinking, “She is so cute!” and then I would remind myself that I was looking at a black and white, fuzzy screen. But still, it is incredible to know that we have a little daughter that will be here in a few months.
I have to admit, I kinda wanted a little girl. I think it came about because we had picked out a name for her at the very beginning, and we had already received a few little girl dresses.
I wouldn’t be surprised if she had curly hair. I think it would be so cute if it were red curly hair. Spence thinks we shouldn’t wish red hair upon our child, but what’s the harm when we really have no say in it anyway?
Unless we change our minds, of course, her name will be Madeline Kate. She is due July 3rd. We’ll see when she actually gets here. We’re so excited to be parents!!

Our Own Little Tribute

After watching President Hinckley's funeral yesterday and the many great tributes to that were given to him, I wanted to add my own tribute to the Prophet. I was grateful for the goodness of President Hinckley's life, and grateful for the goodness of so many other's lives past and present. Hearing of President Hinckley's great accomplishments reminded me of the person that I want to become. Having his character and my own character in the forefront of my mind, and contrasting the two, was just a bit daunting. I loved it when President Eyring said, "We do not have to give everything that President Hinckley gave, we just have to give our best". I think that I can do that.
